When I was told you needed subtitles to watch a lot of British TV and dramas with regional accents I found this a mix of hilarious and cute. Aw, silly Muricans don't get Cocknies, etc.
But today, by pure chance, I happened to read the lyrics to mmbop (please don't ask), I feel my life has changed forever. I had no idea the verses to that song were even real words. I'm not even joking.
Do people from Oklahoma all sound like that? Do people from Oklahoma understand this song without dubbing or subtitles?
I feel awake for the first time. Wow.

True story, when this song came out I was in college and we all thought this song - every time it came on the radio, which was often - was being sung by girls. When someone told us it was a bunch of boys, there was arguing. And even after photographic evidence was provided, we still weren't necessarily convinced.
