Saturday, after some trials and tribulations, I found an out of the way place to camp on an old forest service road near Mt Hood. I got to see a nice sunset, play my flute, and watch the stars come out without any other lights visible anywhere around.
Sunday I drove up to Timberline, got a killer breakfast at the lodge, and happily enjoyed taking 2 mile long snowboard runs all morning. Dropped into the lodge for a quick lunch, and hit the slopes again pretty much until they shut the lifts down.
Mt Hood is temperamental. It takes less than 5 minutes to go from clear skies to clouds so thick you can't see 10 feet in front of you and getting pelted with freezing rain. I loved every minute of it
