OK, so this is a little overdue.
Last friday was indeed a POW day (the acronym meaning Powder Over Work) since a buddy and I took the day off and hit up Steven's Pass after the 2 feet of fresh snow. Needless to say, it was a good time taking turns on the fresh stuff. We tried to take our time, but still managed over a dozen long runs and wore ourselves out pretty well by 4:00. Rest of the weekend was more subdued with the usual errands and such.
Last night, I went to a lousy venue called El Corazon, to see Lennon, who incidentally is even cuter than her pictures. The night was basically a bomb for Lennon and Shannon Curfman, given that there were probably a whole 30 people there, which was unfortunate, because they both dished out some good music. It was the first time I ever heard Shannon Curfman, but I'd be down for seeing her play again. Lennon was solo on a keyboard, with impressive results. I'd definitely like to see her play with a full band.
The three acts before them however... I'm pretty sure people started dropping like flies by the second act. The first set would have been good, except for there being more distortion than sound. The second acoustic guitarist was bad enough to make me seek shelter for my already damaged ears off in the adjoining bar. The third guy though, was really pretty enjoyable. The kind of guy you'd like to have sitting in a jam session around a campfire. Overall, it was a fun night.
Thanks Lennon and Shannon, for still bringing some good music despite the poor turnout.

I haven't been to a good show in way too long.
