Today I lost a love. It was entirely his fault and his choice, and me choosing to protect myself and do the right thing and walk away. The universe is strange though, and loving, and has been giving me funny little gifts and reminders of how it will all be okay. Like, an hour after I got home from things ending, a guy who had tried asking me out for coffee a month ago decided to text me and try again. Then when I was at work and started to get emotional and emo, one of my old regulars whom I hadn't seen in 3 months showed up. He is this charming and loving gay guy who kisses my cheek over the counter and chats with me. He had me smiling, made me feel better about my choice, and then said he was going to make me some earrings in my favorite color since he's taken up making jewelry. The universe loves me, even when it is currently leaving me a bit beat up and worse for the wear I guess.
In other news, I came across this incredible video that is so poignant in light of Monday having been Martin Luther King, Jr Day here in the states, and the legacy of his life, and the current struggles for justice and equality our nation is facing again/still.
There is still work to be done in this world, and I have faith we can get it done. "I have decided to stick with love. Hate is too great a burden." - Marting Luther King, Jr.
Forever and always, I support love, #dontaskmewhy .
Sending blessings and joy to all of you. <3
