I finally got to watch Johnny Depp on Inside the Actor's Studio. As an actor in training myself, there is a lot about that series that I just really appreciate. There are some great bits of humor, lots of inspiration, good lessons. It's also always fun getting a glimpse into the process and personal quirks of fellow artists that I admire.
Johnny Depp's turn on the show solidified my affection for him. I was also touched by several things he said. His advice for those of us getting going, is one of my favorite moments. He tells how his mom told him to handle bullies when he was little, by saying if they had their hands on him and were holding down, to grab the nearest rock or stick or whatever and just lay them out. So he did. This translated to his saying then, to determine to keep going. Don't give a shit what anybody thinks, and just keep going and stay true to your purpose and direction.

I've enjoyed Inside the Actors Studio from time to time, and this made me wonder something I've never thought before. I wonder what River Phoenix would have been like on this show. Which actors do you wish you could see on IAS?

Hmm... I have to think about that one! ^_^ I think I'll also have to see who has been on already.
