My SG buds @fredhincanada and @scorpiontim87 have both tagged me in posts asking a bunch of people to post their favourite song (in Fred’s blog homework post, it’s the first question). This is no easy task, as I love a lot of songs and my favourite often depends on my mood.
If I’m feeling determined or just energetic, one of my go-to’s is “Wolf Totem” by The Hu, featuring Jacoby Shaddix. It’s a song that inspires me to drive forward and reminds me that I’m never alone.
As a practitioner of the spiritual arts, I sometimes draw my inspiration through music. I have a “Magic” playlist for this reason. Lately, the first song I start with when I use that playlist is “Demons” by Imagine Dragons, as I wrestle with my own and I have to acknowledge that as I practice.
If I’m depressed, “Hurt” by Johnny Cash is amongst the first songs I’ll listen to.
If I’m angry, “Bullet with Butterfly Wings” by Smashing Pumpkins strikes the right chord.
If I’m happy and at peace, “Halcyon and On and On” by Orbital matches that frequency.
There are many others, but I won’t list them here.
