@weedfarmer Thanks for the tag!

Love to read personal blogs 🩷
sorcerer333:
@luxes Same! There are so many interesting people here. 😁

I’m having trouble finding a decent thread to post this question on, so I’ll just make it public: can anyone recommend a good book on critical thinking skills to me? I’ve been meaning to read up for a while now, but I just haven’t gotten around to it.

@ferkixlll I’ve heard of both, and will give those a go next. You might sympathize with the “so many books, so little time” state I found myself in up until lately. I can finally catch up.
ferkixlll:
LOL. The Bibliophile's dilemma.

As I’m just waiting out the clock for a moment here in the early morning, I thought I’d post Shakespeare’s 15th sonnet, which, if my teacher was correct, is his only sonnet that wasn’t about romantic love, which I find interesting:

“ When I consider everything that grows

Holds in perfection but a little moment,

That this huge stage presenteth nought but shows
Whereon the...

That's a cool bit of information!
sorcerer333:
@fredhincanada Right? We butcher that word, these days. I try not to use it lightly, anymore.

I’m bored, so here’s part of the intro to my favourite book -

“A Short History of Nearly Everything” by Bill Bryson - to help start my day and yours.

“Welcome, and congratulations. I am delighted that you could make it. Getting here wasn’t easy, I know. In fact, I suspect it was a little tougher than you realize.

To begin with, for you to...

So true, and complicated, but yet how we came to be……… cheers brother🍻

Well, I'm thankful for the existence, either way.

Now that I'm back into ketosis, I'll be working on getting rid of the extra weight. I weighed myself at 187.6 lbs. this morning, and I followed that up with a basic set of stomach exercises and some push-ups. It's been a long while since I've put any serious effort into this, so my initial start was... well, I'll not mince words: it was embarrassing....

Embarassment strikes when you’re making comparisons. Since you’re titling this your “before,” you can use this as the preliminary baseline and move forward from here. You’re doing a not-so-easy thing. You can do it 💪
sorcerer333:
@nonsensetwice Thanks! I’ve already noticed progress, and I’m happy about it so far.

This year was spent in a massive depressive state. Now that I’m safely out of it, I can look towards the next year with… well, let’s call it enthusiasm. There’s still so much suffering in the world that I’d love to just snap my fingers and fix, but I’ll have to be satisfied with doing my small part wherever and whenever I can.

I’m already...

Probably 2023 was the year of depression. It's a terrible state.
sorcerer333:
@caticorn I know very few people that had a good 2023 all around. We have got to do something about this trend.

I don’t truly celebrate this time of year (though I do spend time with my family), but to those that do, I wish you a Merry Christmas, and to those that don’t, I hope you’re enjoying your weekend regardless. To my fellow Pagans, I hope you had a good Yule.

Hey, SG Land, I know it’s just before the holidays, and most - if not all - of you are strapped for cash, but if you could help out @olgakulaga and @spirit in any way, before or after the holidays, I know it would mean a lot to them.

Gods, this week I made a few that have just blown me away. I guess I’ll start from the beginning.

Prior to a few weeks ago, I was lax in my attention to this site and the people on it. Some time ago - about a couple of weeks, maybe - I was in a really, really dark place, and I wrote a blog about...
