For soooo many Japan vacation photos! If you really want to blame someone, blame @_finklestein_ for being interested in it. I posted 263 photos to my personal Facebook so I will try to narrow it down to just the really good stuff.
Being a tourist from the very beginning.
Shibuya jumble crossing, near our Airbnb
Akihabara ^ and \/
Tskuiji fish market
Heading to the Ghibli Museum in Mitaka
You weren't allowed to take photos inside the museum so we had to make due with the outside
There was a Pokemon pop-up cafe near the Mega Tokyo location.
Riding the Shinkansen
Caught a sumo wrestler leaving the tournament in Nagoya
Pokemon Center #2
Nijo castle in Kyoto, part of it anyway
The Golden Pavilion. This photo is really deceiving since you think you are alone taking this photo, but there were really tons of people crowding around you, fighting for photos.
Getting drunk with the locals.
The A-bomb dome in Hiroshima
Hiroshima castle; sadly of course, the original castle was obliterated during WWII but it was eventually rebuilt. The neat part is they turned it into a museum and it's one of the only "castles" you can actually step into. I would take that over staring at the exterior any day.
Back story: some other tourists were being huge pains in the ass and my husband was getting pissed but I would rather say this photo captures his supreme frustration at me demanding we take pictures of all the foods we ate.
Osaka is home to the delicious takoyaki, so obviously it's a place after my own heart.
Shinjuku Robot Show; left me totally speechless.
You wanna go, bro?!
Alright, I have mostly spared you all from my TONS of food photos but this one is special because it was whale sashimi. We found a restaurant that specialized in only whale meat and we had several different varieties. I found raw to be better than cooked as it intensified the irony taste.
At Bar High Five, a tiny bar featured on the show Booze Traveler
Hidetsugu Ueno, the man behind Bar High Five whose a freakin' genius. It was a total honor to be served drinks created by him. We were both worried he was going to be all business but he was a very nice man, asking us lots of questions about our trip and even looked up our train schedule so we weren't stuck walking back to a district across town. We are both excited to visit his new bar location whenever we wind up back in Tokyo.
Walking through Fushimi Inari in Kyoto; another highlight for me as I didn't get the opportunity to walk through all the torii gates last time. I got destroyed by mosquitos but it was well worth.
Tokyo Tower
There you have it! Congratulations to making it to the end! Be relieved you are not my family who were forced to sit through the whole damn thing.
