Not much going on. Just settling back into living at home once again with my Dad and sister. It's nice to not be alone, and definitely nice to not be bleeding money for rent each month. That means more money for tattoos! It's the first time I've been at home in about 4 years. The adjustment isn't too bad since my dad isn't home much (life as a corporate pilot) so I'm just enjoying being a slacker kid for a while; except for the fact I do indeed have a day job.
I had to go back to Chicago this past weekend for unfortunately another family funeral. I've only been seeing these people at funerals lately. This time it was my maternal grandfather, who died three months to the day after my mom. No time or ability to enjoy the snow. My squishy, Southern California body wasn't up for it anyways.
I guess I've just been trying to keep busy. After my mom's passing, we only got a lot of free time since there was no one at home to take care of anymore.
I enjoyed my first hockey game last week. As my boyfriend is a Red Wings fan and I don't know jack shit about hockey, I was made a Red Wings fan as well. Sadly, they lost to the Ducks 1-0. It was really fun; I'm not much a sports person but it's definitely a cool game to watch in person.
I got a new tattoo last night. I must have inherited my mom's love for all things Japanese. She loved collceting Kokeshi dolls and had a big case full of them. I picked out a favorite one to get done in honor of her; not that she wouldn't be pitching a fit that I got another tattoo.
On one last side note, I don't think I'll be renewing my Hopeful account in February so if you are someone who wants to keep in contact, message me and we can link up via some other social site. I'd be happy to!
