Well I guess it's time for an update. I don't get to do it often anymore as my laptop died a painful death. Never again will I own an IBM Craptop Stinkpad...
For a while, our desktop was also giving up problems, and then our DSL modem died...twice. So now the desktop is up and running again, and I have a new MacBook on the way...fuck Windows and microsoft.
Work has been busy...I'm working 6 days a week and tomorrow on my day off, I go to another job for the 9-5 gig. I guess it beats getting up at 5:30am...I actually get to sleep in until 7:30!!!!!!!!!!
I had a tons of tests and scans and bloodwork done--they still don't have an answer as to why I had the seizures. I still don't have health insurance and my meds are crazy expensive...*sigh*. Oh well...what can I guy do, huh?
OKay so my TINY SMALL town of Empire, MI got to have a little shindig last weekend when Melvin Seals and the Jerry Garcia Band came to play. Yes, Jerry is dead, and no, he wasn't there. Melvin used to play with the band, and basically owns the rights to the name. So now he tours around and plays all Jerry Garcia Band music...which for me is just dandy...though I dunno if he's just cashing in on the name...
Anyway, the promoter offered me up a free ticket in exchange for me to come in and shoot, so he would have some photos for for his archive, press releases, etc. SO I brought my 18-55 kit lens, a 50 1.8, 70-200 f/4L and a monopod...no flash.
I think I did an okay job capturing the cannabis-infused slow jamming, and slick chords of the Hammond B3 organ he plays..considering the last concert I shot I was using an ancient 2.1 mp Sony P&S. Yeah it would have been nice to a 85 1.8 or a 35 f/2 or something wide and fast...but I used what I got...and ended up with this.
and the rest are in HERE!
So...whatchyall think...keep my day job??
I have been getting some paid gigs shooting for the local paper, and tomorrow night I'm photographing a spread that a local chocolatier is doing for an upcoming wedding. Yeah...I'll work for chocolate...shit yeah...lol.
Fuck....I miss all of you and I'll be better at getting back to posting and seeing how you ALL are doing...
Hugs...kisses...and bellybutton lint
