growing up, i never thought this man would be governor
so someone covered in tattoos isnt that wild an idea.
this is from an old rudolph giuliani speech:
"On Monday I announced that New York City will take the unprecedented step of ending welfare by the year 2000, and put in its place a system of earnings in exchange for benefits. With very few exceptions, everyone receiving benefits will given a job. Welfare offices throughout the city will be turned into Job Centers, as four centers across the city already have been transformed. Instead of looking to add another person to the rolls, Job Centers do everything possible to add another person to the workforce - to give people real independence in their own lives."
needless to say, his idea didnt work. instead of teaching these people a trade that they could improve on to build some kind of career, he had them out picking up trash in parks and stuff that they could never advance in therefore never get off the welfare system. he just wasnt the right man to tackle this project. his version of cutting the amount of homeless people in ny was either hide them under a bridge somewhere or ship them off to somewhere in jersey - thats just my theory though.
let me first say, i cant stand Arnold Schwarzenegger. however, hes done two things that have completely blown me away:
1. he loaned $150 million in state funds to agencies to further stem cell research. thats the first state to do so, completely going against the presidents stand on the issue.
2. is in talks with tony blair to do something about global warming. he not only did this, but stated how bush isnt doing anything about something that obviously exists and someone needs to take care of it
like i said, dont like the guy, but im quite impressed by these things
On an entirely other note, flattery won't get you a position in my cabinet.
