The things that make me smile.
I was so content in my little world this morning while driving to work. My exit was about twenty minutes up the 5, and I was lost in the Modest Mouse. I wasn't just sitting there on the freeway going to work. I was crossing state lines. I was in Alaska, Ohio, Colorado. It was now, ten years ago, and ten years from now. I saw the ravens and the seagulls pushing eachother... inwards and outwards, and they were us. There was Cowboy Dan pissed and raging at the sky. I understood and detested him just the same. Jesus Christ was there and we mocked him. opinions were like kittens...I was giving them away.
It was too glorious. My exit came, and I wasn't ready to leave. I just kept driving. I was chuckling as I passed. The freeway was busy with the morning commute, everyone going somewhere, and I was there, pointed in the same direction, but for no reason. That made me smile. I just drove until the album ended, then I got off the freeway and took the coast road back.
I also get extremely happy when i see MM lyrics posted in other peoples journals.

I like that band too. I just heard Roll On for the first time about 2 weeks ago. I like the sound. I like it when I click to music and environment when I'm in the car.
