Don't call me the A word!! There was an editorial today about not understanding certain varieties of art... usually very serious and overpriced conceptual art. Aparently there's a peice titled "chair", which is exactly that... a ragtag, beat up, shity chair pulled out of the alley. This chair is actually being exibited and the price is $2800...not bad! This is why I cringe when people call me "artist". The A word is sullyed for me. I paint. call my paintings what you want, but don't call me...
I don't know the name of the artist, but the article claims the reason for the chair is not the chair itself but to offer an "apotheosis of it's former occupant". Oh yeah OK that makes it all worth it now?
I put some new paintings in my pics today, or actually new pics of old paintings, but these are probably not art considering no gallery would ever touch them...thank god.

You have to love when someone paints a couple of blocks on a canvas and then tries to sell it for 1500. And the lame thing is someone will come in, and be "Oh my GOD! This is absolutely fab. I need to have it, it just, speaks to me!" get over yourself. (Sorry needed to vent there)
I paint, I sew, I draw, I do lots of creative things collectively just nothing exclusive. I'd like to, but I get bored really quickly and I like a lot of variety with things. I do really like your paintings. I'm partial to oils. The colors are always so much richer.
