Kidney stone number nine made its presence known in earnest for the first time today. For the past couple of weeks it has ached off and on but didn't really progress beyond the dull ache stage. Today it flew right by that and went right into pain. I immediately remembered how much I hate the pain. Luckily it only lasted for two hours but during that time I had no idea when the pain would end, which makes it that much worse. It would still hurt like hell if I had a time frame but I think it would be more bearable.
The thing that sucked most about the unexpected pain was that I planned on doing stuff today. I even got up early. It had been two days without pain so I was going to give exercising a chance, which I haven't been able to do for the past two weeks. I was going to go recon materials for my next woodworking project. I was going to go buy more delicious Triscuits with a hint of salt and see how big a 32 TV actually is in real life. I would like a humongous TV but I was thinking 32 would probably be a lot more practical and plenty big. I was going to go buy a book or two for my first volunteer kid because his birthday is on Sunday, just like mine, and then go hang out with him today. It's been a few weeks and I want to see how life has been. Lastly, Chipotle. Last week I ended up getting it late but this week I called it off all together. After the kidney pain today, the thought of eating a burrito just made me nauseous.
I ended up doing a whole lot of nothing. With all the writhing and dancing around I did in pain I probably got my exercise in. When I wasn't doing that I was sitting on my bed with my heating pad on high, with my fingers crossed that the pain wouldn't come back. I also played a couple video games and managed to come up with some birthday gift options for my mom to choose from. I gave her options so there will still be a surprise in what she picks. Oh, and I found the bike I would have if I were to have a bike. It is a green Micargi Rover GX Beach Cruiser. All of Micargi's bikes look cool with the retro styles and this one in particular is a winner because it is green. I've always wanted a cool green bike. I also know that at the moment I would probably ride it once and then put it away and never get it back out again. Because I'm lazy like that.
