Work rocks.
Last night one of the best guys at work got fired for bein' late. He's late all the freakin' time but they picked yesterday to fire him. He was on his hour break and when he left his house he forgot his vest so he called and said he was goin' to be late because he had to go back and get it. He ended up bein' 20 minutes late and when he walked in the manager told him that he could just go home. That's just retarded. Of all the times he's late he gets fired when he has a completely valid excuse. If he had said screw it and come in without his vest they would have sent him back to get it. It makes no sense.
This mornin' when I got to work the pseudo-manager had me park in the middle of two spots because we were supposed to save spots for later on. Then she decided it wasn't takin' up enough room so she had everyone go out and park horizontally across the stalls. The whole reason for this was because the head manager, who only ever talks to the other managers, said it was okay for this classic car club to come and watch Cars. For some dumbass reason they've waited 5 weeks or however long it's been out and they wanted to park their cars right in front. It might have been a good promotional thing openin' day but not 5 weeks after when no one cares anymore. Plus, we had to take up about 15 stalls and the guys weren't even showin' up until the 5 o'clock show of Cars. At one point some pissed off patron called the cops pretendin' to be a manager to report how we had illegally parked. The cops showed up and were about to write us all tickets but an actual manager got to him in time and was able to stop him. So 5 o'clock rolls around and we all have to start movin' our cars because apparently the car club was startin' to show up. It was 104 degrees outside and I had to move my hot ass, non-workin'-air-conditionin' truck to the back of the buildin' and then walk all they way back to the front. By the time I got back, the spots that I had taken up were filled with normal cars, not classic ones. All in all, 4 of the 15 classic cars showed up. We all had to park like jackasses for a bunch of jackasses in crappy old cars, and only 4 showed up. All of the staff could have parked normally up front after only four crappy cars showed up but we all had to move to the back. It was ridiculous.
On a high note, which was rough considerin' the previous two events, I got to be a smartass today. Some guy came in with his girlfriend. He was actin' like a complete tool and asked if we would do anythin' because it was his girlfriend's birthday. I just stared at him and said "Yeah, we actually have sombreros in the back and we like to put them on and do a little song and dance." Comin' from a guy with a monotone, through a crappy microphone, I'm sure it had a great effect. He stared back at me and had a fleetin' glimpse of pure hatred before his girlfriend tugged on his sleeve and he seemed to lighten up a bit. Normally I have to keep these remarks to myself but with how the day had been goin' I couldn't resist.
