Well, I'm glad that the holidays are almost over. I've been in San Diego for the last two weeks, and while it's been nice to see the family and all, it's also been rather trying at times. My pops isn't doing so hot health-wise right now, and he's also having a pretty hard time accepting that he's now 81 years old. I actually went shopping with him for a walker the other day, which was quite the surreal experience for me, complete with a persistent, new car showroom-like salesman who tried to hard sell us on all the latest models. But we wound up with a pretty classic hospital-type walker that I hope he will actually use when I'm not around to monitor him...

Ah well, I return to NYC in a couple of days and I don't start school until the 22nd. I plan on using the time to finish up drafts of new stories to be workshopped during the spring term.
