Wow, I haven't posted here for over three months. I've been very busy with both finishing up my BA and applying to grad schools, which can be a full time job on its own...
But all that hard work has paid off, as I just found out that I've been accepted to the MFA writing program at Columbia University in New York! I am really blown away by this, as it's always been one of my top dream
schools and they were also the very first to get back to me. One of the professors in the program actually called me to let me know I'd been accepted, which is a nice touch I wasn't expecting from any school.
So...now I just have to figure out how I am going to afford it.
But, no matter the cost, I don't think that I can resist going to the school that nurtured both Jack Kerouac and Allen Ginsburg, plus a bunch of other heavyweight writers.
Meanwhile, I have two more terms to get through at Portland State until I graduate, so I'll be in Portland through much of August, then...the big MacIntosh. It's kind of still hard for me to believe...
Anyway, if you've got about ten minutes to kill, this insanely repressive little 1950s educational short from Mystery Science Theatre 3000 is definitely worth a look:
"Keeping Clean and Neat"
"But you can never scrub away the stain on your soul."
"Don't go to bed with wet hair...or a first date."
I love MST3k!
