Very enjoyable weekend. Finally met some SG people at my first SGAU hookup at the 34b club on Oxford street. Met with hellfaerie, thefuckoffkid, and Milli for dinner and had the weirdest chips I've ever seen. Tasty but about as filling as a bowl of steam. Then went to 34b and met some others i had not met before on chat - Emma, BabyFirefly, blakemitchell, Felicia and later Brainstorma (a fellow 'Gong boy) and e1ektrob0y. Was treated to an eclectic show of stand-up comics, hulla-hoops, music and burlesque dancers and much fun and dancing was had by all.
After the show, a group of us wandered the streets searching for my car before driving to Newtown where we were refused entry to the Towny by the bouncer who had made an erroneous assessment of our drunkenness. Not to be put off, we headed to the Bank and continued the revellry despite mediocre music. Our pleas for something 80s fell on deaf ears and we were finally ushered out towards 3am.
We lost blakemitchell to a cab bound for Bondi and then got lost driving Felicia home after several changes of plan. And then there were three. Myself, brainstorma and Milli, who was struck by a sudden urge to build sandcastles at the beach and so before we knew it, we were headed for the 'Gong.
The beach plans were scraped en route in favour of vodka, music and partying on with whoever graced the chatroom at that early hour. Although my vodka suppy was much less than i had thought, the fun continued til well after dawn with Rage Against the Machine and The Triffids while the chatroom was treated to the drunken, sleep-deprived shinanigans of the three of us including numerous dackings of the undieless brainstorma.
Cant wait for the next meet up.
