I have no idea why people grow dreadlocks who aren't Rastafarian. It gets me and all the Rastas in trouble for what young white gentry do in acultural ecstacy. Not cool with the Cultural Inappropriation going on with that. Dreadlocks need to be Rasta, or be like dreads you grew because you learned from a Sadhu living in India for 5 years. Something. They can't just be "hey I'm a druggie/pornstar if youre a rasta you're a stupid white man" dreadlocks, as most are these days. They have to be meaningful.

Holy crap!. You've officially been banned from the Dreadlocks group. If you want to have a welcome environment, maybe you shouldn't be calling us porn stars for having dreadlocks. You have no idea why I've grown my dreadlocks out for more than 5 years, or had them more than once, and probably will do them again. I'm just appalled at your attitude. It's almost like you are looking for a fight, and no one is going to give a set by you, if you are a hopeful, even one look if you keep alienating yourself over something so stupid. The truth is that no one gives a shit if you think dreads are tied to a "religion". It can't just be that a single "religion", which isn't actually officially recognized as a religion at all, not even in Jamaica, where it was started in the 1930s, or a single culture, that can call dreads their's and their's alone. I'd say that way more civilizations with various religions could lay claim to the hairstyle (which is just fucking hair) well prior to 1930s. Rastifarian "culture" is in its infancy compared to when dreadlocks started, in which was in prehistoric and ancient times. If you can't understand that, you need help. Learn to let shit go, and then maybe you'll have a successful time here on SG, but I doubt that because nothing you say has a ring of truth to it at all... Good luck, in any event.

I have a Rasta elder that time travelled me back to Ancient Egypt and said anyone who grows dreads without Rasta intentions is a groupie. Did you do that to grow yours?
