Just got back from Cologne today to a big pile of mail and loads of birthday wishes. YAY! biggrin I'll be popping round to thank everyone who sent birthday greetings over the weekend.

Being nearer 40 that 30 doesn't hurt so far, we had a fab time, ate our heads off, drank much fine German beer and went to my favourite places like the Roman museum...

By the time I get back I'll be officially middle aged. But will have a suitcase full of beer and sausages to compensate. See you then.

Taffboy is the loveliest man on earth. love He's been coming up at the weekends and taking good care of me. Lots of shit going on at the mo that I just don't want to go into here. But it will all be okay.

Yesterday was nice, we did bugger all the whole day, then I made Malaysian food for dinner, rounded off by making a...

Thanks honey. I think everyone just thinks I should be over it by now.
As for guys, I think I should just give up on them completely, I have the worst luck frown

Hope your not-to-be-gone-into-here shit sorts itself out. Sounds like you found a recipe for a pefect Sunday there too.

Dammit. Now I've got The Commodores playing in my head.

Having a grim time at the mo, dear readers. Taffboy is being a real star and looking after me well. Regular journals full of high jinks 'n' drunken badness to resume soon. Oh yes, and still having my holiday, of course.

xx kiss

Those who know me well will know that I am not a great fan of religion of any kind, despite my love of kitchy 3-D pope postcards and glow-in-the-dark Virgin Marys. In particular I am sick to the back teeth with idiots of any religious persuasion who kick off because someone has had the *shock horror* temerity to challenge their ideas or simply to take...

I can't this trip, sadly. I'll visit after the World Cup, however I plan to take a two-week sabbatical in Edinburgh and Glasgow.

I thought you were still in London?

Fully agree with you there - especially with Blair saying that 'he'll be judged by god' about the war. If he listened to the majority of people in the UK, rather than to the voices in his head and the monkey across the 'lantic, we'd all be better off.

Saw Nick Cave tonight. Fucking BRILLIANT.

oh yes! from the moment the first note was played i was amazed. i'd been to see him at the carling academy last year, but i wasn't feeling very well, so i didn't really pay attention there, so this was more like my first time... the stripped down Mercy Seat was probably my highlight, but it was all good.

well,it's the "worst" (or best) snow-in we've had in over 25 years.

so, yeah, we can beat bavaria this time.

and hopefully we can be excused for blocking italian life for 2 days.

but i bet that even half the snow would have stopped us. we just get paralyzed by snow tongue

ciao!

Happy New Year!

We celebrated in style at Soldatka Mansions. Not many of us in attendance, just me & 2 friends, but we saw the New Year in in style. 3 course dinner and buckets of fizz. We saluted the New Year throughout Europe by toasting each country according to their time zone.

4pm-8pm: Russia, Mongolia and former Soviet republics. Vodka and Red Army music....

I am back!

Today I faced the scary prospect of being stranded in WICK. Not funny at all, as you will see if you click the linky. The plane was incredibly late arriving from Edinburgh and still had to make its way to Shetland before it could turn around, stop in Wick again and transport me to Edinburgh. Hours late (and bladder stretched to the...

I dunno -- you could well have gone to the "re-painted each year" natural pool, now couldn't you?

We had one of those in St. A's -- it was called something like the Victorian Ladies pool and was refreshed by the North Sea so it was always full of slime and seaweed as well as being incredibly cold. Not once in 16 or so years was I ever able to see the bottom of the deep end of that ghastly thing.

Happy Hogm'nay-
