That was a belter weekend, which has left me feeling more than a little washed out! As everyone kindly pointed out at work today. I pretended to have a cold like the rest of my colleagues, how are they to know that my Barry-White-like tones derive from chainsmoking the last of my holiday fag stash?
Went to a friend's birthday party on Friday night. We found her a MAGIC birthday present in Ali's Cave - a purple glittery winged unicorn that sings songs and bobs its head in time. Classy and tasteful YAY! Did not overconsume for once. Well done me.
Saturday was even better - I started the evening with a civilised coffee and blether with a friend - the Oxter Admirer I shall call him. He is very charming and uber-brainy. But sadly I had to leave his company, for the Red Army were calling! Many handsome men in WW2 Soviet uniform (ie my old re-enactor pals) were waiting in the pub. We drank much beer and had a great time, though there was one guy there who had been a German parachutist last time I saw him, I was quite sure I had executed him after a mock battle...? Must be proof of reincarnation as he had come back as a Russian. Never mind.
We all piled back to my house when the pub had closed and arsed loads of beer and schnapps and listened to the Red Army Choir and Laibach until stupid o'clock (which turned out to be about 10am )
3 or 4 hours kip later I was in the fine company of SG Scotland and loraine took fab pics to prove that for once there were women present. It was a pretty good way to end the weekend, even if I had to stick to cola and leave at a civilised hour to hop into my jammies.
Am I weird? I love the new Madonna single. The one with the Abba sample. Usually I spit nails when anyone desecrates the Euro-comeliness that is Abba, but I actually like this. I am no doubt going to make a fud of myself at the office party boogying to this. Not like today when I just made a fud of myself by falling through a chair in a meeting.

Saturday's shenanigan was indeed good. Pub was jammed (you been in the Ship?) There were at least 35 of us lot in there. It is probably the best one I've attended - but yours sounds good too, albeit less of a crush.
So glad you were able to find a suitably refined gift, but Unicorns don't HAVE wings. Must be a fake.
