lots of pictures too
San Francisco was great. I can't thank Vegemite and ThrottleBitch enough for giving me a place to sleep and feeding me delicious food and just being all around awesome people. Thank you!
Neonframbozen was a great traveling companion. We went through some crazy shit.
America is intensely beautiful. I'm so glad I went. I got to hang out with some great people like sarahg, Necia, productiondiva, oldrustedchair, GlassHeart and aralia131.
Not much has happened for the two months in between. My mom went on her own road trip. She went to Coachella. The lucky bitch.
In the middle of May, I went up to Boston with a friend. We went to see a play put on by Amanda Palmer at her old high school. It was about the Anne Frank. With the Needle That Sings In Her Heart It was inspired by the Neutral Milk Hotel album "In the Aeroplane Over the Sea". It was so good. She signed the postcard my mom sent me from Coachella
HalfJack put us up and it was awesome. So much fun. There was Weird Science, great conversation and lots of drinking.

It was my birthday on Wednesday and my friend, Tricia, and I managed to get tickets to a sold out reading/concert with Neil Gaiman and Amanda Palmer. They earned 10K for charity. They auctioned off a copy of the book Who Killed Amanda Palmer and it sold for $1300. Craziness.

Best birthday I can remember. So goddamn wonderful. My favorite author and favorite singer together (and dating), performing. Neil Gaiman reads his stories so splendidly. Amanda Palmer played a song I didn't think I'd get to hear her play and she was lovely. There are some wonderful videos:
So Friday, another AFP concert in NYC.
I went up by myself. I had found some random people to crash with through the internet. They turned out to be super awesome people. I got to meet lots of great people at the show. AFP had one-on-one confessional time in the bathroom with Twitter fans. I ended up waiting in line with some funny people. I didn't get one-on-one time because there were too many people, but she invited the remaining people to crowd in and I ended up next to her with her arm around me. I got a kiss on the nose. The openers were really good: The Lisps and Abby Ahmad. Listen to them. The singer from the Lisps is gorgeous. They were super nice too. I told them to twitter more. Haha. Emily Brodsky joined The Lisps and AFP for Delilah and Yakety Yak. Her voice is wonderful. I'm too lazy for links at the moment.
AFP was amazing. She is a fucking brilliant performer. After the show, I stumbled into the people I was staying with. We hovered near the stage discussing whether we should stay or go. We had already had the bathroom. Haha. It was going to be short signing and no pictures so we were divided. A man threw a piece a paper with the lyrics to Delilah off the stage and hit my friend. The drummer from the Lisps needed them to play. My friend gave it to me as a birthday present. While discussing our plans, the line suddenly formed around us. We were like "welllllllll..... could be fate.." We decided to flip a coin. Heads - we stay. Tails - we go. The first one disappeared. The second landed on a guy's shoulder. Heads. We decided to stay and I'm so glad we did.
Neil was there hanging out with AFP.
I told her I was crashing with people I met through her forum and it made her really happy. She wanted a picture with us
I showed Neil my tattoos and he actually said "wow" when he saw my Dream. He thanked me. I thanked him for giving me such great characters. <3 I shook his hand again. Got a big hug and kiss from Amanda Palmer and pranced on my way.
