Worked some more on one of my new songs today. If I play it in the right setting down here it could probably get my ass kicked, but it'll be a Helluvalotta fun. It's gonna have a loud Twilight Zoney Sonic Youthy Neil Young & Crazy Horsey feedbacky electric guitar/keyboard onslaught with an acoustic mountain musicy hillbilly-y part and with percussion done on my Native American version of a talking drum. Probably I'll play a Meat Puppets type punkabilly bassline or else have someone else play the bass part. I like other people playing because I like music, like sex, to be mostly spontaneous and always changing and like sex, others' involvement helps a great deal! The song is a jab at the redneck scene down here and I call it "Redneck Foreplay (Get In The Truck, Bitch!)"*
*The title of this song is quoted from a fictional redneck character I like to call Bubba, and in no way reflects the composer/narrator's viewpoint.
I'll record it when I get my new 16-track digital recorder and figure out what other musicians to get involved. Most of the musicians I know around the Ocala/Belleview area are either classic rock or metal or country and I want a hardcore or Indie feel. I think I'll go dig up a Meat Puppets tape and see if I can find some inspiration.
