Alive again.

Intellectual stimulation? What's that?

I'm filling in for a vacationing coworker at work. He's in charge of all the human resources for my group at work, about 300 people.

What a mind-numbing job! It requires no intelligence at all. The challenge of this job is wading through the bureacratic BS of personnel. Between re-inventing the wheel trying to figure out how to get...

Ever wake up at 4:30 AM on a Sunday morning and because you had nothing else to do, started learning how to use VIM?

For you Mac users out there:
-Open a Terminal window (/Applications/Ultilities/Terminal)
-Type "vimtutor"
-Enjoy!

For Linux users:
-Open a Terminal window
-Type "vimtutor"
-Enjoy!

I had a dream last night where I was riding the Metro (the subway here in DC) and it stopped because a tree was across the tracks (It was an above ground section of track.)

So a supervisor was out there and instructed all the passengers to construct a temporary train kit. The kit consisted of pieces of plastic picket fence sections and large wads...

Well, the package wasn't there.

I neglected to ask for a "same-day will-call." Although the nice ladies working the pickup counter looked for my package for 20 minutes before they turned me away. The manager even helped out. All the staff was really pleasant.

Better luck today, I guess.
zephyra:
Don't you just love the Brown?

ewwww.
Thanks for the luck!

ten bucks says you don't get zephyra's reference to brown.

The wait after your UPS delivery failed is the worst part of "e-commerce." The UPS man came at 3:13 PM, while I was at work, earning money to pay for this new radio and satellite receiver. I've requested that the package be held for me at the distribution center, which closes at 8:30. My package should be ready at 8:00.

So if you try to...

Everyone that is thinking about any type of car audio should check out Crutchfield before they order anywhere else. I bought a radio, installed it and hated it. They take returns and pay for shipping. I exchanged the radio with them over the phone in about two minutes. I should have Sirius up and running tomorrow after the UPS guy comes.

Awesome.

Spring gave us a wonderful preview today. It was 65 and sunny.

What a difference to drive home with the sun higher than my windshield and it warm enough to have the windows open.

Our taste will be short, however. A cold front will move into the area tomorrow, bringing with it rain and then snow. NWS forecast discussion

I love being me... two of...

Here's a question for everyone...

You're sitting in a public place in front of a large picture window when out of nowhere, you hear a loud "THUD."

You look up and see bird feathers stuck to the window. You look down and see a stunned robin that has just flown into a window. It is still alive but not moving, just breating. You can't get...

I walked into painbearer's office yesterday and what did I see, but a HUGE paper shredder!

When I say huge, I mean like the size of a small kitchen stove. It had a gaping 1.5 inch opening for paper and some very angry looking knives staring back at me from the hole.

That was a challenge to me. So I walk over to ol'PB's...

It's so hard to find quiet in the city, Having grown up in the northeast, snowy days are very special. My friends from other parts of the country don't always understand why I like the snow and the cold so much.

I love the peaceful silence that comes with the fallen snow. Everything is new again. My world is completely changed with a snowstorm. The...

Well, enough on war driving.

I've moved on to html. Havning nothing else to do on this fine Saturday, I went down to the library and started reading my new htmlbook.

Having never spent much time in a library this was a new experience. I kinda liked it.

Now I'm sure there'll be members out there that ask, "hey so_radio, did you use emacs?...
