We lay in bed. She read her book and I stared at the ceiling thinking, like I do.
Suddenly I come to a realization and feel the need to share.
"If I could hump anyone, living or dead, do you know who I would hump?" I ask her.
Without looking up from her book she replies, "And who would that be?"
Her voice betrays a distinct disinterest but she humors me because she loves me.
"If I could hump anyone, living or dead I would hump ..." I trail off to what I hope is a dramatic pause, trying to build up her interest, but she just turns the page. Finally I have to say it, if only to resolve the suspense I've built up in myself. "You. I'd hump you."
This time, with just the barest hint of amusement in her voice, "And would you prefer to hump me living or dead?"
A moment's hesitation to think and then I am able to reply quite confidently, "You know, I don't think it would matter babe. I'll take you however I can get you."
She arches an eyebrow but never takes her eyes off of her book, "I'm glad you could be so accepting of me."
I smile and quickly lean over and give her a peck on the cheek then settle back down into my spot. It is then that she finally turns from her book to look at me and smiles. She leans over and we have one of those amazing movie kisses, that to be honest, her and I have gotten down to such a delightful silence that we can pull one off like it was nothing more unusual than a morning shower (and we often have them during our morning shower).
She goes back to her book and I snuggle up under my covers and fall asleep to dream of a perfect love that I will be lucky enough to wake up to next to me.
