Less than 2 weeks until I turn 20
I'm leaving teendom! How sad *cries*
So like, YEAH! I went on holiday this summer. How about that. I thought I'd show you in 30-something EPIC photographs, spoilered for your own good!
Spain & Portugal: 21st July - 2nd August 2008
We landed at Sevilla Airport and after much confusion and lots of monies later, we got our car and drove off to Tavira, in Portugal.
SPOILERS! (Click to view)
Spanish Sun. Good stuff
Me and Mum's room at her friend Gerry's house. I got bitten so badly at night by those pesty mosquitos
Veiw from the balcony. If you went out on to it, you could see the sea. How sweet ^_^
Me chilling by the pool. So nice there! I read some books and swam a few times a day
KITTENS!! I stepped on Mother Cat in the dark by accident. I hope she was okay. She is the skinniest thing I've seen >_< EVAR!
Spanish roads. Awesome!
My dad came out to meet us and here he is in our little Citreon C3
We stayed just north of a town called Montefrio, about an hour north-west of Grenada:
We went to Cordoba because ... well, we were bored and we could! There was a lovely place there (I forget the name) but it's a World Heritage Site and inside it reminds me of the Great Hall in the Mines of Moria (LotR, don'tcha know!). Lovely
We made it to the La Alhambra in Grenada.
And the Sierra Nevada, in Spain, not California:
And here we are, the last Spanish sunrise I'll ever see:
I have to admit, it was a fun holiday. I got lots of reading done.
1. Blood Ties - Sophie MacKenzie (kid's book, but fun
)
2. Hells Angels - Hunter S. Thompson
3. Skinny Dip - Carl Hiaasan
4. Some other book
5. I'm sure there was another book as well.
From Thursday 7th August to Saturday 23rd August I went to Ireland.
It was wet.
Very wet.
SPOILERS! (Click to view)Our first house was north of Doolin and the Cliffs of Moher in County Clare. It was a dull looking house but it had a wonderful view overlooking Galway Bay and the Aran Islands.
Speaks for itself
High winds + sea = this:
I looked like this most of the time. Two people asked me if I was with the PLO. Terrorists or something.
Any budding geographer will appriciate these limestone pavements
On the half day of blue skies that we got during our first week, I FOUND THOSE DONKEYS <3
Our second week in Ireland was spent in County Mayo on Achill Island. Fresh place. Once again, only one day of good weather. This was
not that day!
JEEPERS CREEPERS!!
Note: I would have more photos from the Ireland holiday but those photos are on the other camera in THAT room *points*
I stopped in Knock after dropping off my brothers and my dad at the airport. 15 people in 1879 saw a premonition on Mary, St Joseph, some other apostle dude and a lamb in Knock and they've turned it into one big HORRID churchy site. Honestly. I don't know who designs modern churches but they're ugly as fuck. Look what they did to the church where Joan of Arc was killed in Rouen. Blerg!
Oh well. Now it's an international pilgramage place. Want some souvenirs?
Lawl!
FINALLY, last but not least, I think I was born to work here:

SPOILERS! (Click to view)So the day before I get back to England, I get a text from
Julian saying, "well, I'm an uncle". And I'm like, HOMGSHEHADTHEBABYWHILSTIWASAWAY!?ZOMGGGG!! (Did I ever mention that his sister was pregnant?) Anyway, I went to visit Baby Cook:
Isn't he sweet? 8lbs 10oz. He's about 24 hours old when that photo was taken. And 72 hours old when I took this one:
We *still* don't know what the baby's name is. I'm hoping for Felix, but that probably won't happen. But he SURE is adorable

SPOILERS! (Click to view)Julian and I drove to Essex to see my family on the Bank Holiday weekend (I always have done, always will!) Here we all are, excluding a few members. The people on the bench and the man and woman + small child on the left are not in my family. They're just friends. You can see Julian and I at the back in the middle:
Julian and I just being silly:
He's falling out of the sky!
Then we played some tennis:
We've been together for 4 years now, it's nice to know that he smiles when I kiss him, haha!
To finish off, here I am, completing my blog. I got my job back at Waterstones and I start on Monday. I can't wait!
I've also got a photoshoot on Sunday which I'm looking forward to
I'm going to bed now as I have to go shopping in the morning
Night night!
xx
Wow, school did work for me!
