I was supposed to have an appointment on Wednesday, but he called me and rescheduled for Monday. I'm always cool for coming in early to get my work done! Hell yes! He showed me his sketches, but I didn't even really look. Yes, just put it on me. My fate is in your hands. I respect your art. I will trust that whatever you came up with will make me happy.
Sat through 4 strait hours of tattooing without a break. It was no problem, but at around the 3 hour mark I started to fall out into a tattoo coma... Just got really spacey, couldn't really follow conversation anymore. Luckily my friend JB had accompanied me, and he is a very talkative person, so he and Evan amused eachother while I recessed into oblivion.
This is what I ended up with:
My tribute to my theme song: Fuel, Shimmer.
"She dreams a champagne dream
Strawberry surprise, pink linen and white paper
Lavender and cream
Fields of butterflies, reality escapes her
She says that love is for fools who fall behind
I'm somewhere in between
I never really know
A killer from a savior
'Til I break at the bend
We're here and now, but will we ever be again
'Cause I have found
All that shimmers in this world is sure to fade...
Away...again."
There are some people that would want me to defend my choice of that song, but I don't really feel the need to. It has been my theme song since I was like 14 or something, and even now the words ring true. Plus, as much as I love music, I am totally a 90's rock girl at heart. I don't mind having a tribute to that decade on my body
Eventually, when I get more money, we will be adding butterflies going up above the shoulder and wrapping around to my neck. It will also be in color (lavender and cream, haha) and blah blah blah. The dude on the low part of my arm is named Sid Vicious, and the little guys on my shoulder I have named Jack and Jim, the whiskey twins.
Dean and I were taking a shower last night, and talking about tat ideas, and I think I may just turn my back into fairy princess scenery. I really want to get a night mare tattooed on my ribs (a dark horse on a mountain, with moon and stars suspended overhead) and I could flow that into an ice-queen castle with my snowflakes on it, and a prairie stretching out below it where my butterflies fill the sky. I can't even imagine how Evan would to it, but I know that it would look amazing.
Haha, now all I need is a job.
Anyways that is my big update on ink! Chillin' with cool peoples. Maybe shooting a new set soon, finally. Maintaining a mostly-daily yoga practice (anyone in the MD area want me to teach you? You'll have to bear with me cuz I'm just learning to talk my way through my classes, but I guarantee to give you a flow that will rock your world!) and struggling my way through Autobiography of a Yogi so that I can get on to something I really want to read. And I think that I'm going to a spoken-word open mic tonight that my friend is hoping, so maybe I'll even read some of my poetry!
Let yourself fall into art!
Manifest your own destiny...
