Wow, that was brutal......
I landed in Delhi this morning feeling as Id been hit by a truck. In retrospect, I shouldnt have been surprised. The decision to have two double scotches right after taking off was probably not the wisest one. Translating time zones, it was the equivalent of doing 4 shots of whiskey at 5am, waking up at 8am and trying to go to work..it wasnt going to happen.
Instead, I went to the hotel and crashed for an hour, eventually woke up, wandered to a meeting and got screamed at for an hour. All in all, a lovely dayDoing business in India is not for the light of heart. You eventually have to get used to hearing abjectly crazy things over and over again. Then again, im probably not helping my own case by blatantly defying the rules and forcing telco bureaucrats to take massive risks that could cost them their jobs....its always a challenge dealing with people who actually give a shit.
Anyway, that was that and after a strong 10 hours on the ground I jumped on a plane to Bangalaru, which I must admit I was awake for about 10 minutes of the 3 hours. Bangalore is a much much much cooler place than Delhi literally and figuratively . People are cool, you can walk around anywhere you want day or night, and there are bars you can actually go to and, well, drink. I got a tattoo of RacerX here a few years ago, about which people in the US still look at me as if I am completely insane. I always tell them that it was completely safe they washed the needles out in the street water right in front of me!!
