I finally started pulling the trigger on something nice for myself:

Nice, eh? I put it on layaway yesterday, and should have it paid off in about two months or so. I'm absurdly excited.
So, for everything good that happens, there has to be something to balance it. One of the rings that I bought for CherryCoke the other day turned out to be a mens ring, and as such it cannot be sized to fit her delicate size 5 3/4 fingers. To top it off, as the lady at Macy's was packing it up to send it to be sized (before we found out about the sizing problem), one of the stones fell out of it! So it was going to need to be repaired AND sized. Whatever, it was covered under warranty, but still...
So CherryCoke and I returned it to the Macy's I bought it at and exchanged it for something else. We came out $75 ahead on the exchange, so it certainly goes in the win column, more so because the new ring that she picked out is even better. It's not nearly as much of a steal as the other one was, but still a damn good deal nonetheless.
My father wanted to get me something I'd like for christmas (the Omega above is somewhat out of his price range), so after some hunting and research I put forth this as an option:

At 1/4 the cost of the Omega that I'm buying for myself, it's inexpensive enough to be worn every day, but still high enough quality to not piss me off every time I check the time or look at my wrist. The bracelet is absurdly comfortable too, and easy to change to boot. I'll probably pick up an extra-long silicone strap to put on it for wear OVER my ski gloves
.
I think that it's going to be a good christmas this year. Minus the getting dragged to all the in-laws.

For me it's an excuse to brood in the corner and make snarky comments.
