So...I've pretty much made up my mind on going back to college, the trick now is figuring out where, when, and how the hell I'm going to pay for it. Right now I'm thinking about trying to get an appointment to the Air Force Academy, as it's always been one of my dreams to be an Air Force officer. So they run me ragged for four years while I'm going to school...and I don't have to pay for it. And I get paid. And I have a guaranteed job upon graduation, that pays almost twice what I make now, not to mention the tax-free living stipend and amazing benefits. I figure, bust my balls for 4 years at the academy, serve the mandatory 8 year term, get my discharge, and have my GI bill pay for my masters in Gastronomy....I think I may be planning a bit too much though, as my odds of actually getting an appointment are pretty slim. But the worst they can say is no. I'll probably also apply for a ROTC scholarship to someplace closer...maybe someplace I've already been accepted to...We'll see what happens.
