With a little nudging from the gf, I called the little people yesterday. It was something I know I should have done long ago, but couldn't bring myself to do because I knew it would leave me a bit of a wreck. It did, but the gf was able to pat my head and make me feel better.
I managed to to get just about all the B-day shopping done yesterday for my two little monsters with help from my gf. She's even bought them gifts, despite the fact that she's never met them. I find her generosity towards my little people a little overwhelming. All this is reconfirming in my mind that I have, in fact, found the one.
