A whole week without putting anything in here? The week can't possibly have been that boring. Oh wait, this is my life.
It was basically a week like any other with the addition of waiting impatiently for the ink to heal.
Only worked six times last week, so it was relatively relaxed.
Saturday was rather odd. I only had one customer at the mess (that's an army bar for any who are wondering), so I got to close early. I then, surrprisingly, went to the 'burbs with my friend Matt.
Matt didn't eat before meeting me at my place, so we stopped at Harvey's on the way to the bar. For some reason, he ordered two cheeseburgers and gave me one. The people at Harvey's can't count so they actually give him two double cheese burgers. I hate their burgers. They taste like there's no meat in them, and I'm no vegetablatarian. I threw it away after eating half plus all the vegetables.
Mr Matt is so tired he looks like he's going to fall asleep sitting on the back wall of the stage, "Smothered Hope" playing nice and loud and all. Unfortunately, the half burger was sitting so heavy that I couldn't dance to that classic without feeling nauseous.
Saw the crush looking as yummy as usual, and just as normally said absolutely nothing. I wasn't really in the mood to be rejected. I pointed her out to Mr Matt, who, as the loving human being he is said, "You have absolutely no chance." It's nice to have friends who flatter the ego.
Somewhere around 1:00 am, one of the girls dancing on the stage comes over to us to ask if we know who they're playing. When I tell her it's the Killers, Matt pipes up. "You like this song?"
"Yeah," she says. "Why?"
"It fucking sucks." (edited by Matt without remorse)
Ladies and gentlemen, my friend Matt, the woman repellant.
About an hour later Matt is actually completely flat on the stage floor sleeping. I left earlier than I have in years. On the bright side, Matt slept on my couch and couldn't move when he woke up. In a display of belated karma, Matt also had "Somebody Told me" stuck in his head today.
