The biggest mystery in this world to me was not knowing my father all my life. I could think up all kinds of things to talk about but that question has been most important to me. But unlike a lot of unanswered questions and mysteries in this world I got my answer recently.
Yep lol, I'm an official true Ancestory DNA story. This last Christmas my father's niece tested and matched my DNA I did a year ago when I started my search for him. Unfortunately my father has passed BUT I now have a rather large new family from his side and I discovered I have a half sister and a dearly departed half brother from his first ever marriage. It's been truly exciting to find out how many people are now related to me.
I'm looking forward to embracing all these people in my life and they have been so happy to find out I exist. It's been a flood of emotions for me but I'm adjusting slowly. I have never had a large family and since my mom and grandmother passed and except for random relationships I've always been alone in life. So it feels good to know I have actually have people out there.
The next big step is actually meeting them. We have talked on the phone and video chat but meeting in person is going to be so different. I think I'm particularly scared about that part but there's no going back now.
