Awww!!! Best friends!
So my other half came through the door the other night with a cute little bundle of joy you see on the right.
Well, he's sleeping so you can't really see his true cuteness. More pics coming soon.
But I will tell you right now I have not had a puppy for almost 12 years and I forgot how exactly like a baby they are. And of course he has chose me only to torment day in and out with all potty training and relentless, horrifying teething going on. I'm his Number #1 person in the family and everyone thinks it's SOOO funny!
Everything had to be puppy proofed quickly and I'm still finding out little surprises that I have to guard against. Like for instance he discovered the stairs which I never thought he would ever climb being how vertical steep they are and it's a semi spiral so there are gaps leading to a nice drop down below. Silly mutt almost broke his neck if I hadn't caught him and a laundry basket hadn't been parked beneath.
I can just see it now! I'm going to have to put a stunt blow up matress thingy underneath to avoid a broken dog. Sigh lol.
He has done pretty good since then using them but it scares me to death everytime he goes hauling ass with the cat up and down them. Needless to say the laundry basket stays where it is now.
Luckily the kitten and him have become the best of buddies even though she is his favorite chew toy. But she holds her own with a few good swats here and there. Just hope she doesn't take an eye out.
But they sure keep each other good company which helps alot despite he is still under foot ALL the time.
And as for buying chew toys for your new puppy...and I learned this long ago...I recommend you never spend a fortune on all those fancy pet store items. Rip off! He chews on everything but what I have bought him. Except the Goodwill stuff toys, lol you should see the stuffing fly!
I have just resorted to those, socks full of ice cubes, chunks of wood, a tennis ball, and his favorite the cardboard paper towel rolls. These are the only things that have kept my furniture in one piece and I don't mind cleaning up the mess if that's the case.
Otherwise he is a very fun and adorable little dog. I'm glad my man thought I needed something else to care for besides him, his brother, the 2 cats, 1 snake, and a betta fish. Oh, don't forget all the household chores and cooking lol. Nahhh, I'm just talking shit, I really love the little fella and am happy to have a dog again since it's been 2 years since I put my other one down. I guess the timing was right, the dog needed me, I needed the dog and so forth.
Well, I'm off to do potty duty. If this little jerk pees on my floor one more time..........
