You look forward to a long weekend off work for AGES then it comes along and you find yourself bored. Not a good thing. Spent a LOT of time watching DVD's (Carnivale and X-Files I'll have you know) and as much as that is great the endless sitting about is getting tiresome.
We HAVE popped out though and managed to see Antibodies and Casino Royale at the flicks. I've never seen a Bond film in the cinema before and I really have no time for those movies. This latest one didn't make me want to re-evaluate that stance. Dull plotting and set pieces galore led to a yawn fest for me. Antibodies (a german film) was a tad better but still very silence of the lambs/seven. Seen it all before.
I've yet to see Borat - my lady obviously doesn't want to see it cos every time I suggest it she springs a headache or something. Git!
Back to rehearsal with the band tomorrow night. Our gig has been moved to Wednesday 13 December in the hellhole known as The Vale on Dundas Street. It's a total dive but we're just looking to kick things off again. Not had any practise for a couple of weeks so really need to get back into it lest we make an arse of ourselves.
Our old singer is doing his 2nd solo gig - he's now a country singer - and has let it slip that he will be covering one of our songs - Hell is Hot. From the title you can tell it is NOT a country song. I'm intrigued to see how this is gonna turn out. So intrigued that I'm gonna go and watch him - Underworld on Wednesday night - goes by the name of Jim Dead. Soon he will have a band called The Deadbeats. I think that's kinda cool.
