Yet again it's far too hot.
Had a drink with my dad today in an 'old man's pub' in the East End of Glasgow. I've never seen such a group of unwell looking people gathered together in one place in my life. However, on the plus side they are happy. These people seem content to drink themselves to death. you can understand sometimes why it gets so addictive for them to be there - almost everyone who walked in the door pretty much knew everyone else and their name was cried out by the whole pub when they walked through the doors. Yup, it was like Cheers except set in poverty ridden Easterhouse! I guess for a lot of these folks it's all they have. Thank goodness I moved away. Not that I'm a snob, I'm fine with growing up where I did, I'm just happy I didn't turn out like so many others I know and see on a daily basis (I still work there).
The band have another singer to try out on Monday. This guy sounds promising, I sent him over instrumental versions of our songs and he has sent me one back with him singing over and it sounds damn good. He has quite a distinctive voice - sings in Glaswegian and rolls all his R's so it could be quite interesting.
Me And the lady are flat hunting as well just now. Got sick of our private landlords messing us around and we're going to get a flat through an agency. Still going to stay in the same area but just in another, hopefully bigger, flat. In order to do this I've had to cancel my SKY TV package and the sports package that comes with it. EEEEk!!!!
Just mean I'll need to go to the pub to watch the Celtic matches! Shame.
