It's wet wet wet but thankfully there is no Marti Pellow in sight!

Not been up to a whole load recently other than abusing my credit card. In the past few weeks I've bought an X-Box 360 on it along with some games and yesterday we ordered a 42 inch plasma TV. It's gonna take up half my living room but I care not! On...

It's about time I wrote something on here I think.

Although, truth be told there ain't much to write.

Got the Southpaw comeback gig on Wednesday 13 December in The Vale. Had our last rehearsal on Thursday night and it went OK. I'm glad of that cos the rehearsal before that was pretty damn atrocious. you never know which Southpaw are gonna turn up on...

I've always been undecided about Final Fantasy X. I enjoyed it, but it was faintly ruined for me by the fact that I hated the two main characters. And the voice acting... I still shudder to think about the 'whistling scene'.

Mind you, it had the wonderful Lulu in it. Aaah.

I still don't like to think about FFX-2...

Drinnk, drink, drink, drink, drink...

I blame Midwinter. You up for it ??

You look forward to a long weekend off work for AGES then it comes along and you find yourself bored. Not a good thing. Spent a LOT of time watching DVD's (Carnivale and X-Files I'll have you know) and as much as that is great the endless sitting about is getting tiresome.

We HAVE popped out though and managed to see Antibodies and Casino Royale...

The Vale isnt a total dive, we ok it is and the stage is super high but i know the guys who organise the gigs in there so im sometimes sneaky and get on the guestlist so i may come see u play!
missduke:
awww dont be scared, the only thing to shit it about is the height of the vale stage! I will be the one there with the mea curly hair and the tartan mini kilt on, u cant miss me.

I'm writing this blog on my snazzy new computer. It runs like a dream compared to my 5 year old previous PC and everything is so colourful. I'm gonna have to go back and check out some of my fave sets on here cos everything looks so much better on this new monitor.

anyway, not a load to report in daveland! The band thing is...

Yeah, cruddy performance in mid-week, but we made up for it with the fight back on Saturday. All the better for the fact I was there !!

biggrin

Glad you didn't sit down to read it just now, mate. As it's not finished and it would be quite a frustrating experience! I'm not going to manage it tonight, so I've left it half done. Will come back and finish it tomorrow!

Sounds like you're spending your evening well. Carnivale is brilliant - the second series is incredibly harsh. Hope you enjoy it.

My evenings are currently being taken up with Battlestar Galactica.

Wow, I haven't written a journal in a month. I think that's my longest break yet. In fact, I've hardly been on the site at all recently. And when I do, I tend not to look at the sets anymore - it's straight into the groups for a quick peek then off again. I believe it even crossed my mind today that I should give...

I don't know much myself really, but my dream is to blend the jangle of a telecaster with the crunch of a les paul, so the custom tele with humbuckers will hopefully have the perfect jangle/crunch ratio. These are all technical terms I'm sure.

[Sorry for the delay in responding...]

Yeah, it was a magic result - my dad said that's the best he seen Celtic play in Europe since our hey-days of the late 60s / early 70s, so you can't say fairer than that !! Just as long as they don't do to us what we did to them...

6 days until I board a plane for the first time in my life. Is it a bad sign I have been given diazepam by the doctor, have already started on my Kalm tablets yet am still a total nervous wreck?

Help.

Over the past two days I have made the move from the south side of Glasgow to the east end. I know I prefer the south side but we just couldn't find anything suitable for the monthly rent limit we had. However, the new flat is MUCH nicer than the old place and the street seems not too bad. Although, I don't really approve of...

Not a nice experience on any day of the week. You never guess how much these things will shake you until you see them in the flesh.
johnnyforeigner:
Actually, I really enjoyed Crank. It's mindlessly entertaining, pretty much like Snakes On A Plane. Plus it starts with Jason Stratham kicking in a plasma screen telly to the sound of Refused - New Noise. Ace biggrin

Another week over. It was a week filled with LOTS of lazing around the flat with my lady as we both contracted a virus/bug/whatever at the same time. The Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday were filled with far too many episodes of the X-Files to count. I'm up to midway through season 8 now and don't know what I'll do with my time when I finish...

get well soon my friend... nice to finally know more about you.

your pre-midlife crisis will pass soon, hang in there.

its a shame about not finding a singer...don't give up ! !
battles:
A couple of hours? So it was more like a midlife hazard. Sweet.
El Shadow is in Glasgow on November 29th. Annoyingly, he's got Massive Attack on the same bill (not sure who's supporting who) at some US gigs.

The lady and I today agreed that we have become such a touchy/feely/insane in our own little world/needy/never apart couple that it is seriously affecting our social lives. Right off the bat I can't think of the last time we went out with a group of people for fun, drunken times. And as much as we love sitting in, watching dvd after dvd and playing...

hows it going?

i know how that couples thing is. I tried to designate "days off" from my boyfriend when we first met... because it scared me that we spent so much time together. On our first scheduled day off... I ended up driving behind him down the street... so he pulled over and I pulled up beside him and said... "w'll we already fucked up not seeing each other today, so you might as well just come on over..."
and he did...
we have been inseperable since we first met.
kinda sickening, isn't it?
sophronia:
I can't' believe that your band got stood up again!
Really... I would think that you wou;dn't have troubl;e finding someone who at least would show up for their trial run!

So what are you doing in Paris? traveling for fun/vacation?
