I am home!
I have more pictures than I know what to do with. I am putting some here, the rest I am sticking in the folder.
Copenhagen was all sorts of things, but always wonderful. I went to the Zoo; to see Vikings; on a boat around the harbour; to the park more times than I can count; to see Mr. Hammershoi at the Statens Museum for Kunst; to see Danish design; to see Danish history at the Nationalmuseet; to learn about the Danish resistance movement during WW2; to the Botanisk Have; to dinner...
I learned to say "Jag kan ikke tale Dansk" which stood me in good stead in a country where most natives speak at least two and often three or four languages. I learned 'hej', 'tak', 'nej', 'ja' and 'vaer venlig'. I learned to check for both cars and bikes before crossing the road.
I flew twice, once there and once back.
When I came back, I found that my grandmother had given me one thousand pounds.
And that a boy I used to work with had been murdered, stabbed to death by his stepfather.
Term starts in two days.
