A special thanks to everyone who wished me a happy birthday. I didn't die of alcohol or bacon poisoning.

I kid, I kid. I didn't really drink that much. Mostly just a bottle of my oatmeal chocolate stout I made about two years ago. It got really interesting. The oats softened and got really velvety, and in combination with the pound and a half of Ghiradelli they yielded a very unique flavor. It took me a moment to place it but it was definitely reminiscent of angel food cake. Weird. Good. And unexpected.

Apparently my folks sent a package to me on the 22nd. It's still not here. I hope it didn't get lost, even though I don't know what it is.
