Okay, about my Vegas trip...
We left Denmark on the 30th, first plane ride took just over 9 hours to Atlanta, then 3 hours waiting there and 4 hours to Vegas. Got to the hotel room, took a shower and fell asleep.
We went to eat our New Year's dinner at Top of the World at the Stratosphere. It was awesome. Great food (4 courses) and the revolving floor was so cool, and the view was amazing. The other couple we went with had bought tickets for at nightclub called Pure at Caesar's Palace, so we went there afterwards. Not really my type of place, I felt a little uncomfortable and out of place at first, but with a couple of drinks everything was much better. No places for sitting, though, unless you were a vip, so damn my feet were hurting. (that'll teach me not to wear shoes a size too small...).
Got back to the hotel at around 5:30, sooo tired after all the travelling and such.
The days just went by so fast I can barely remember what we did. We did go to an outlet mall and did some shopping. There's soooo much money to save compared to Danish prices. We only had the energy for half the mall, being here in Greenland makes a lot of people very tiring.
The boys decided to collect 1$ chips from all the casinos, and they had to play for them. So we went from hotel/casino to hotel/casino. I'm no gambler, so I just stood and watched the other 3 play, but it was fun. Got some free drinks. And of course we explored the hotels and such. There are some truly amazing buildings in that city! And crazy and weird.
Also went to see the Shark Reef aquarium, Siegfried and Roy's secret garden, Lion habitat at the MGM, adventure dome at Circus Circus (where we went on our only rollercoster ride, it was awesome, I've never tried a rollercoster with loops before and this one had 2 right after each other). Unfortunately the one around New York New York was closed for upgrading. We had a view of it from our hotel room at the Orleans and it looked so awesome. -A good reason for coming back! Also, speed at the Sahara was closed for the season, that sucked too.
But we did go to Madame Tussaud's wax museum, I got married to George Clooney.
-Oh, and we went on a helicopter trip to Grand Canyon. That was absolutely amazing!! It was a bit expensive I think, 360$ per person, but it was well worth it. Just the fact that neither one of us had never been in a helicopter made it all worthwhile. But flying down into the canyon, landing next to the Colorado river and just enjoying the landscape, I can't describe the awesomeness of that experience!
On one of the last days I decided that I couldn't leave Vegas without having tried gambling, so I started out with some blackjack, and my man got mad at me for not having started when we came, coz I was really lucky and I gave him luck as well. I also tried craps, that is one awesome game! Didn't get half the rules, but I was quite comfortable playing the pass line and betting on some numbers and such. The dealers were usually really nice and willing to teach us a bit on their own account. I think it's a very social game and I like the fact that it's the players who actually roll the dice instead of a dealer.
Oh, I also got sick after about a week. My knees had been hurting for a few days, I just thought it was from standing up so much watching the others play. But we went to see Cirque de Soleil one night (Mystere at Treasure Island) and I had to go straight home to bed. Was out cold the next day, all my joints were killing me and I was so pathetic, I was real man sick. lol And nice as I am, I decided to share my sickness with the other 3.
The last night we decided not to go to bed. We had to be at the airport at 5 am so it would be worse getting up early than staying up all night. It fucked up our sleep pattern real good. There's a 9 hour time difference from Denmark to Vegas. Then the day after arriving in Denmark, we went back to Greenland, which is 4 hours back again. Silly. I think today is the first day I'm actually okay. Still tired though. And cold. Yesterday it was -21 and today it's down to -30 again. Need I say it sucks?
That's all for now!
