o.k., here's the update. I just got back from the hospital again and they said they ran a series of tests on him this afternoon, asked him to open his eyes, lift his right leg, left leg, squeeze thier hand, thumbs up, etc.. Amazingly, he responded correctly to all of these and he even acknowledged his parents presence by making eye contact. He was sleeping when I got there, but he looked more at peace. They explained to him that he had been in an accident and he was in a hospital and everything, said he seemed to understand, even nodded his head. Even more amazing. Ii don't know what I would have done had he not survived. They said they didn't expect him to live through the first night, even asked about organ donations, bastards. His brain shifted when he hit because the impact was so forceful. Most people don't live when this happens. I don't know how he did. All's I know is I'm really thankful he did. He's been breathing on his own all day and I think they're taking the tube out tommorrow. It's still going to be a little while before we know if he is fully functional, but it's looking alot better than I expected at this point. some of that mojo you guys sent over must have helped. It's still pretty scary to think about how things are gonna be for him when he fully wakes up. His skull was fractured in three different places. nuff said. He's lookin' better. I can sleep a little easier.
