*heh* its 11am and my roomate, krista and josh are still crashed out and we have a potluck we are supposed to go to at noon. i set my alarm and am in the process of making green bean casserole.
last night turned out ok once i got a few drinks in me. it started out fun when we went to the thai restaurant (and, oh, btw, january and krista both called to wish me a happy b-day so more then just my mom called....oddly enough i talked to my older brother several times during the day but he never remembered it was my b-day). back to the restaurant. we went to this place called 'tasty thai' and i had some sort of shrimp noodles that were very good. being at the restaurant we were all sitting around one table so i felt the company.
after leaving the restaurant we went to a place called the copper rocket to see our friend's band play. when we got there i started getting really depressed. see, i've spent the past eight months with this cool chick who last weekend decided she didnt' wan tto be around me any more. while i dont' claim to understand it -- if that's how she feels i can't fault her for it. but, damn, i thought she would have the decency to call me and tell me happy birthday (i would have done the same for her even though she's the one that put me through the emotional roller coaster). its not like we only knew each other for a few weeks or anything. i continually underestimate those i think are my friends.
after a few beers we went to this other place called 'big daddy's' for kareoke. i don't do kareoke but like to laugh at those that do. it was pretty busy and none of our group ever got to actually sing kareoke -- but, we still had a great time. while were were there rachel and anna both returned phone calls i made to them and gave me well wishes for my birthday as well (i dont' count them as the two that called me to tell me happy birthday only because i called them first).
overall, i had a great birthday apart from getting hurt yet again by my ex girlfriend. hell, even my ex wife came out and had ice cream with me and my son and took him to the store to pick out a present for me.
but, today at noon we are having a potluck dinner at brett's house (who i must say didn't have the chance to call me because i called him first thing in the morning and he sang happy birthday to me) which has turned into another birthday party for me.
so the moral of this story is.....guys are stupid (but we at least admit it) and girls are just evil (and they are in denial about it).
