I need advice. Where should I eat, what should I see in Portland and Seattle? It looks like I've got a trip happening in October! I'm spending about 2.5 days in each place.

Two great Thai restaurants in Portland - Cha Ba Thai and Tuk Tuk. Cha Ba Thai does vegan dishes - I have some vegan friends who love it and introduced me to it. (I'm not vegan, so I can't say whether Tuk Tuk does vegan, but their food is good, assuming you like Thai.)

Dragonfish is a great Sushi restaurant and there's a cool bar called 9 Million in Unmarked Bills, both in Seattle. In Portland, you -have- to find a food cart called Brunchbox and try the "You Can Has Cheezburger". If you're not vegan that is-- it's a bacon cheeseburger that has two grilled cheese sandwiches instead of buns... it's amazing. There's also Portland City Grill, which is a nice place up in a skyscraper with amazing gazpacho, tempura fried calamari, and great views of the city. As for stuff to see and do, the Seattle Gum Wall is gross and amazing at the same time, and in Portland you'll find tons of cool stuff up on Burnside Street. Have a great time!
