So, I am a HUGE Johnny Cash freak. And this morning I was listening to his cover of "Hurt". I try not to listen to it because it's such a sad song coming out of him. I read his autobiography and I suggest reading it if you are a Johnny Cash fan. Well, there is the line in "Hurt" that goes:
Every one I know goes away in the end
And while Trent Reznor might have had friends die or people leave him...it's a lot deeper coming out of The Man in Black. He was friends with Elvis, Roy Orbison, Buddy Holly, Waylon Jennings, he considered June Carter his best friend as well as his wife. And they all died before him. So outliving his close friends and his partner...that's gotta be tough man. Wanna see somthing more depressing then the video to "Hurt"? Watch the footage of what VH1 has on the June Carter funeral. I think that when Johnny Cash died, it was the best thing for him. Now he gets to hang out with all his friends.
Ok...now I get to serve burgers at Mel's Diner.
Would you like fries with that?
