Hello. And Happy Birthday.
It was ages after i joined SG that I actually began to 'post', and a while after that that I ventured to request someone's friendship. I felt very awkward & he was curious as to why I'd asked him (we have a common interest in Thin Lizzy) but he added me. You just have to jump in. As slimjim said, commenting is the best way to get yourself known. You could always check out the "No friends' group for others in the same situation too.
