a few hours ago, i performed my first (and second) pap smear. while i'm all about learning new medical shit, i find it difficult to brag about this milestone. let's just say that it's a simple procedure and a very powerful and important test and leave it at that.
also, while discussing patients with a doctor, i used the phrases "whatchamajiggers" and "i couldn't get any deeper unless i used a running start."
if you are wondering, yes, i did need a beer after work. a few beers, actually.

it is really odd, eh? trying to minimize the disparities between intruding upon a woman's most personal, vulnerable state, trying to be soothing, and your own purely clinical fascinations.
