aah.. the whole iceland thing is totally crazy and is gonna be so much fun! we've just spent an afternoon trying to plan, and really it's pritty ridiculous, but noone's gonne give up.
If we could just fly in to Reykjavic and set off from there it would all be so easy. Unfortunately Kev and James have around 60 kilos of resistivity equipment and a magnetometer to bring on top of camping gear and clothes and stuff. Which measn flyings right out cos the cost of excess baggage will be ridiculous.
This leaves the ferry. Which is fine - resonable prices, takes ages, but should be a good laugh. Unfortunately it takes us to the opposite side if iceland from where we need to be, and we have no way at the moment of getting across without it taking far longer than we have.
But it shall all be sorted out, one way or another. It will involve chaos and insanity, but that all adds to the fun.
My life is suddenly seeming quite hectic. Meeting up tomorrow afternoon to look at maps, then heading over to Amy's for pizza and videos in the evening. Thursday hopefully heading to see Big Fish with hester and emma and maybe babs and gods know who else. Dunno where or when, but we shall see. And that's presuming my fieldtrip in the afternon gets back in time! Friday evening my sister's coming over to Norwich to visit me for the first time since I've been here (and about time too), and i think we'll go to the now 90's disco thing cos it promises to be a laugh and quite a few people i know will be there. Then satuday night's hester and emma's party, which should also be lots of fun.
It's nice to have a social life for once. I'm sure i'll fit coursework in the gaps somewhere....
