I had three pints of weak beer this afternoon, then fell asleep at six o'clock. By nine I had a headache. I can't drink without feeling ill anymore. I might give up alcohol.
psmith:
weak beer will do that do you.
girlblue:
it's bad for you and full of calories anyway. smile

I had a day of hedonism yesterday. A half litre of Ben & Jerry's New York Super Fudge Chunk ice cream, two bagels with humus, two with cheese, some Polish fudge, lots of beer and a vegetable biriani. So much for the diet, but there's always tomorrow I suppose.

Music of late has been Blondie's Parallel Lines album.

My life is boring. I go to...

I posted on the topic of cars interests on the car group page. I have a project car that i left at my parents house in LA, a series 1 XJ6. So far that has been my only real project. I'm a bit of a Rover nut, nearly bought an SD1 instead (probably not a good idea, esp in this country where only 1k SD1s were sold before they left the market), also a fan of Morris, Jowett, and british fords.

Did Triumph use Stromberg carburettors or SU?

I'm feeling slightly patriotic today. I wonder why?
Maybe it's because I'm enjoying life a bit more.

Fact of the day:

A country which was a former British colony is more likely to be a functioning democracy today than one which was never under British rule.
Imperialism wasn't all bad.
girlblue:
It's because I'm coming to the UK, isn't it? smile

I bought a pair of boots and a pair of sandals (!) from the sale at work today. I am happy.

Song for the day has been Not So Manic Now by Dubstar.

I'm actually enjoying my job. I've never had a job I enjoy before. I work with people I like, I even like the customers, and of course the manager love

Progress report on the new year's resolutions:

I'm drinking more,
Eating a little less,
Going out about the same,

Not been on much of late as I've been working like a bastard. Not that I don't enjoy it.

Still skint, still enamoured with my boss (the delectable Louise), still waiting to sort my car insurance out.

Resolutions for New Year:

Lose 30lbs
Drink Less

any nice houses for rent in chorlton to a non-student? i'm looking to branch out sometime in the not-too-distant future...
cellardoor:
At the moment i'm in Prestwich, not too bad coz the transport links are good, I work in the city centre so I need an area with easy access to town. I thought maybe chorlton because of the high student rate and therefore less chance of gettin killed for wearing baggy pants...

Started working at the Dr Martens shop yesterday. I was put to work in the stock room, under the supervision of Jenny love Jenny is 23 and is lovely but I have no chance, she's a lesbian. Anyway, I was in the stock room today and it's cool, all very chilled out & relaxed. I just hope they keep me on after January.

My new car...

I heve done nothing all day. Not quite true - I ate a litre of ice cream. Now I feel guilty.I intend to start running again over the Christmas break, I expect I'll find an excuse not to though.

Todays music: Girl, Interrupted soundtrack. Brilliant stuff.

The fuck off idea is a good one... it wasn't anyone in particular, I'm just fed up of getting dirty looks everytime I venture into the open world.

Oh well...

I've been listening to Simon & Garfunkel a lot lately. My initial thoughts are that they were far superior to anything else of the time, including The Beatles & the Rolling Stones.

Hello darkness, my old friend,
I've come to talk with you again,
Because a vision softly creeping,
Left its seeds while I was sleeping,
And the vision that was planted in my brain...

I think I agree with you - I mean the Beatles were on their own, but I have more passion for S+G

Simon and Garfunkel remind me of turntables and scratchy, poppity records. My parents had quite a record collection and Simon and Garfunkel is mostly what I would listen to. That and The Hobbit LP. God I used to listen to that like crazy. Just crown me Queen Geek.

It's 11:53PM and I have just finished the last of this terms essays. My eyes hurt, my head hurts, I'm mentally exhausted but I can't sleep because I've been swallowing caffeine tablets all evening to keep me awake. My feet are cold too. I feel like shit but relieved and happy. blackeyed smile surreal

oh yesssss! i love tank girl. in fact, i dressed as tank girl this past hallowe'en. i had to hand candy out to the rugrats in the mall, and they were all like, who are you? and i was all like, you'd have no idea. their parents liked it though ~ especially the skeevy old guys who appreciated my thin little half-shirt. ewwww.

anyway, i'm glad you got the essays done ~ and i, like cherry, am also glad that i'm no longer in school! blargh, i hated that shit. take a warm shower and read a book in bed, that always puts me to sleep.
