shawna comes back from canada tomorrow! she went to ontario to meet her soulmate. let's hope he was nice to her.
yesterday afternoon at the sandwich factory, i was helping some people who didn't really speak much english. when they got to the register they said they just wanted water. so i gave them some water cups. well...they wanted bigger water cups.
me: i'm going to have to charge you five cents each for bigger cups.
them: okay
me: eleven cents (took some of their change, walked to the back).
them: (laughing and speaking spanish)
me(to tanya): (partially joking) tanya, i think they're laughing at me.
so i go back up and peek around the corner and they're getting pop in their water cups! bastards....
me: HEY! those are water cups
guy: um....what?
me: you said you wanted water. if you're getting pop, i have to charge you $1.40 for each cup.
guy: umm....i don't understand?
me: those cups are for water.
guy: yes?
me: you got pop! i have to charge you.
guy: (looking dumbfoundedly into his cup)
me: it's $1.40 for pop. you paid five cents...for water.
guy: umm....okay (dumps out pop and fills with water).
tanya: GO CAR!
we act similarly with chip thieves as well. well, i don't, but i was feeling particularly confrontational. and acting on it made me feel pretty good.
also, last night, we were busier than anticipated because our closest neighboring subway "ran out of bread" and had to close. that's what the transplant customers said anyways....
don't work until later today and of course, i woke up at eight. i really do need to clean this place completely though and get back to biology studying. i'll also probably go to the rec center for a nice, long time. it will be me 15th day in a row. (yes, i've been keeping track!) they're closed tomorrow too and i have evening engagements (a lame test) on monday so my streak will be broken up. laps around the little apartment it is!
