Hey all you Dan fan's (I say this in hopes of preemptively naming my fanbase before it's numbers grow beyond what I can count on my fingers and toes and they name themselves something ridiculous like.... Dan-cers... actually I'd be ok with that, especially if they created their own Dan-ce craze! Oh man this is brilliant! You're now Dan-cers!
...But admittedly the confusion in everyday life and difficulty at hashtagging will be terrible. The importance of branding people!!! .... this train of thought got away on me real fast)
Anyways, I've gotten sidetracked. I'm halfway through my debut of my first Art Collection, the Goddess Project, on all my other social media. So it's about time I share this project with SG, since afterall SG played a hugely important role in the creation of this collection
So what is the Goddess Project? It's many things, my first art collection, the first in a series of many, a new direction for my career, but most importantly it's me sharing my uninhibited visions of the beauty and strength of women with the world. I've always found that there's beauty in all things and that it's the differences that mark our beauty. So that's what I did with this collection with my vision of these Goddesses (also I just like drawing rad things and these ladies are turned up to 11 on the rad-o-meter).
For a full look at all these Goddesses I recommend checking out my website www.danieljschneider.com You'll get a full look at each Goddess, a chance to purchase prints and cell phone cases (more products are on their way... I'm thinking leggings) plus you can join my mailing list to get the full story behind why I chose each Goddess, the models I chose for them and behind the art stories about the creation of each piece. As a thank you to everyone that joins my mailing list you'll get a Goddess Project coloring book as a free download
Now after all that fluff, allow me to show off these pieces and talk about the models for each one
Lakshmi
The first of the goddess project I'd like to introduce you to is, Lakshmi
She is a goddess of wealth, but not wealth in the way western culture typically interprets it. She has wealth of spirit, soul, body, health, marriage, family, mind. Her life is wealthy in the way wealth should be measured by more of us and she strives to helps us find that
My model for Lakshmi is the lovely SGH @kacigoff She is not only a beautiful model but an amazing cook and entrepreneur. She was exactly the kind of calming and welcoming beauty I wanted for Lakshmi
Brighde
Next goddess; Brighde
Celtic goddess of arts, poetry, smithing, philosophy, hearth, home, snakes, and livestock. She is the goddess of all things considered high, from hills to fire and even intellect
I chose one of my favorite models for Brighde, the beautiful SG @annalee She not only perfectly suits the look of her goddess but also her home and personality were a perfect fit Brighde as well
Kali
up next is Kali. The hindu goddess of power, destruction and the cosmos. She is also the conqueror of time
My model for Kali is the wickedly cool Full Metal Jaxon, a woman who perfectly captured the look of terrifyingly powerful beauty I wanted from Kali.
Persephone
Persephone is the greek goddess of spring, flowers and youth. She is the unwilling bride of Hades making her a goddess of death as well. Her time spent in the underworld with him marks winter and the world mourning for her
Persephone's model is SG @reed who I thought captured the fine balance of life and death I needed in Persephone
Freyja
Now we come to Freyja, a norse goddess of sorcery, war, sexuality, gold, love and death
Freyja's model is SGH @vaporeon a woman who's look has all the various multifaceted layers I needed to capture such a versatile beauty like Freyja
Iztpapalotl
Last of this first collection is Itzpapalotl, the skeletal warrior goddess, also known as the Obsidian Butterfly or Clawed Butterfly
Itzpapalotl's model is the wonderfully intriguing Hannah Dugas. The only woman I could see capturing such an otherworldly beauty
There you have it! A very quick introduction to my pieces, the goddesses and my models. If you enjoyed this I highly recommend checking out my site and following me or joining my mailing list. I constantly have gifts and free content for my mailing list and it's the easiest way to follow all my work. Also I'm currently setting up my next set of Goddesses (and eventually god's) so if you have suggestions for Goddesses, God's or models I should consider please feel free to let me know
Alrighty, I'll see you round here later homeslices
